Happy December, everyone! It’s hard to believe the year is already coming to an end & Daniel and I will be celebrating our one year married anniversary soon! To start this month off, I thought I would share our Christmas home decor! I had so much fun getting the house decorated for the holidays this year. While my parents were in town for the week of Thanksgiving, my mom and I began the decorating process! This year, each room in our house has its own theme and color scheme. We did it this way mainly because we have so much gold and silver wedding decor left over from our ceremony last year that would flow perfectly with some of our Christmas color scheme! Plus, a lot of our wedding decorations were handmade by family friends, and it would be such a shame to have only used them once. This way, we can reuse them every year and they’ll not only look great with our Christmas decorations, but serve as the happiest reminder of our wedding day, too! Keep scrolling if you want to see how we decorated for the holidays!
This is my favorite decorated room in our house. Daniel & I were married in this living room last December (2017), and to have the Christmas tree and candles we used for our ceremony up again this year has given me so much joy. We were given the most gorgeous silver & gold Christmas pillows as a gift this year, so I decided to center the room decor around them. The room mainly consists of gold, silver, and gray accents, with a pop of green to add the Christmas vibe.
Since our dining area is an extension of the living room, I decided to decorate the dining table with the same color scheme. I found a table runner that matched the living room accent pillows and went from there!
To continue with the gold & silver theme, I decorated the entryway with more wedding decor. I love the table runner on the entryway table, as I think it adds a warm (and glittery!) vibe to the space.
The kitchen is probably my second favorite room in the house. I absolutely love the traditional red & green Christmas theme! A lot of the items were my mom’s that she has passed down to me. The napkins and napkin holders were originally hers. The cute Christmas mats have been with me for countless years now! A few newer pieces I added were the Christmas vehicles that I placed on the shelves, as well as the kitchen table centerpiece.
It’s a bit odd, but we have a small section in our gold & silver living room dedicated to our colorful Christmas stockings & Christmas village. The mantel above the fireplace is too angled to hang stockings from, so we opted to clear off our DVD collection from the shelving unit, and create a colorful Christmas space. Since my parents come to Albuquerque for Christmas, I’ve hung their stockings, as well as stockings for our pets (yep, we’re those people). The Christmas village is one of my favorite aspects of the holidays, and I’m so thankful to have found such a perfect place for it!
I really wanted to find a Christmas comforter for us this season, but felt that it was a bit silly to spend money on. Just before Thanksgiving this year, I came across this comforter cover that was 65% off (!!!) I obviously couldn’t resist a sale that amazing! Plus, it’s just a cover, so it’ll be easy to store during the off seasons. Majority of the pillows on our bed have been with us for a few years now and are more than likely from HomeGoods. The three pet portraits were gifted to us this year, and might be my favorite item in our house. I am amazed at how perfect they turned out and how well the artist was able to capture our fur babies’ personalities. You can check out the artist here.
That’s it for our Christmas home decor! Hope this helped get you into the holiday spirit!
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays,
