Happy New Year, friends! I hope your January is kicking off to a great start & you’re adjusting to the new year well. Instead of fully recapping 2018, I decided to just share a few of my favorites from the past year! Click on any of the words underlined to view the product page! What are some of your favorites from 2018?
Our road trip to Los Angeles, California in June
“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” Philippians 3:13.
We watched The Godfather series for the first time this year, and it’s definitely one of our favorites now.
Favorite TV Show
The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970-1977): This show was made in the 70’s, and has worn more Emmy awards than almost any other show to date. The main character, Mary, begins working as the only female employee at a Minneapolis newsroom. But don’t worry, she has two female best friends that will keep you in tears from laughter. This show will give you all the feels and make you laugh, cry, and never want it to end. (I put off watching the last season of the show for over a year by restarting the series before watching the final season). Available to watch on Amazon Video.
Bob’s Burgers (2011 – Present): Bob and his wife run a burger restaurant with the help of their three hilarious kids. The shows centers around the kids’ hilarious antics that always lead to life lessons. This is a hilariously written feel-good show that will make you want to get married, have 3 kids, and open up a burger restaurant faster than you can say, “Ah, my face!” (You’ll get the reference if you watch the show 🙂 ) New episodes Sunday night on FOX & available on Amazon Video.
Golden Girls (1986-1992): If you haven’t heard of Golden Girls, then it’s time for you to block out 24 hours of your time to sit down in front of a television and watch one of the greatest shows ever made. This show has made a huge comeback in the past few years, as the 30th anniversary of the premiere was in 2016. The moral of the series is that you’re never too old to still be living life to the fullest! You’ll laugh, cry, and slightly panic when you realize you have a lot in common with one of the four Golden Girls (I’m a Blanche/Dorothy mix). You can watch it on Amazon Video or the Hallmark Channel.
Our Crosley record player. Daniel has several original records passed down from his grandmother, and it has been so wonderful to play them the way they were originally meant to be heard!
Favorite Skincare Product
My mom gifted me a bottle of La Mer facial lotion that has done wonders for my skin.
Favorite Hair Care Product
Also introduced to me by my mom was Amika shampoo & conditioner. I absolutely love their Velveteen Dream Smoothing Shampoo & Conditioner. I love the product so much, I’ve just placed another order to try out their Repairing Shampoo & Conditioner. And the best part? They’re cruelty free!
E.L.F. 100% tops the list of my favorite makeup products from 2018. I’ve been using ItCosmetics makeup for nearly 3 ½ years, but the price has just always made me cringe. I went on the hunt to find something that worked just as well (or nearly as well) in a more affordable price range. When I stumbled upon an entire section of E.L.F. products at Target, I was amazed at the crazy affordable prices. I decided to give it a try and haven’t looked back sense. I’ve even bought E.L.F. makeup brushes! I can’t recommend the products enough!
Favorite Clothing Item
2018 was the year I started dressing in more of an “office attire” than I ever had, and I love it. My favorite clothing purchase has to be the wide leg pants from LOFT. I have a pair in gray and black. They make me feel classy while still maintaining a pajama-level amount of comfort.
-Adopting our dog, Lola
-My best friend, Brooke and my husband meeting for the first time
-Having a Gingerbread House competition with my family at Christmas (my dad & I won against my husband and mom)
-To encourage me to start playing piano again, Daniel (my husband) created a book full of sheet music of my favorite songs for me to play. It was one of the most thoughtful gifts I’ve ever received.
