Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Info & Tips!

July 9, 2019 2 Comments

Hi, friends! Long time no talk!

As I’m sure you’ve been made aware, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is happening soon. I honestly love the excitement this sale brings, and I’m thrilled that Nordstrom decided to move the beginning sale time to 12:30 pm ET instead of in the wee hours of the morning! In case you’re curious about shopping the sale, I’d like to provide you with a few tips beforehand:

First, what is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
The NAS is an annual sale of brand-new merchandise at a discounted price. The main products featured in the sale are Fall and Winter clothing, home decor, and beauty.

Early Access begins July 12.
Public Access begins July 19.

In order to shop Early Access, you must be a Nordstrom debit or credit cardholder. Please do not be misguided or intimidated by the hype around “Early Access.” The decision to get a Nordstrom card needs to be made with careful consideration as to financial situations and genuine needs. Many bloggers will tell you that most of the products of the sale will be sold out by the time Public Access comes around, and while that might be somewhat true, Nordstrom does restock some items. (Last year, they didn’t do a great job of restocking, but in previous years, they have).

I do not agree that you must shop Early Access to get the best items. In 2017, I had never heard of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and ended up shopping it during the very last days and scored some amazing items I still regularly wear.

On a personal note, I wanted to share that this year I have saved up a few Nordstrom gift cards in order to shop the sale at a financially comfortable place. Last year, I was very new to the NAS hype and sale, and got a little in-over-my-head. I’m determined to shop smarter this year. I’ve begun to compile a list of items I’ll be searching for during the sale, and I’ve separated the items into three lists dependent on priority of need/want: high, medium, & low (see list below). I’ve also decided to keep a budget sheet as I shop, so I’m not solely reliant on my cart total on the website.

If you have any questions about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, please feel free to reach out! Let me know if you’ll be shopping, too!

Great post! Love the prioritizing and budget sheet idea! So easy to get swept up in the hype of the sale and spend too much.
